Breaking the Rules to achieve Success

An inspiring evening for women in North Wales

23rd September 2005 – 7.30pm St George’s Hotel, Llandudno

Imagine you have a really good idea, the best one you’ve ever had. The more you think about it, the more convinced you are that it will work. There’s only one problem. Everybody knows that in order to make your idea fly, you need the backing of certain individuals, but no matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to break into “the establishment”.

So what do you do next? And how far should you go?

Preethi Nair was working in the City as a management consultant, but knew that what she really wanted to do was to write novels. She spent all her spare time writing, but when she tried to find a publisher for her first book, all the shutters came down. Her response was both unorthodox and extreme. Ripping up all the rule books, she secretly gave up her job, invested all her savings in having the book printed, set up her own publishing company and created an alter ego “Pru Menon”, her PR agent.

Preethi’s first book, Gypsy Masala, was a big success and in a slightly surreal twist, “Pru Menon” was short- listed as publicist of the year. And the first thing her family knew about it, was when an article entitled “The double life of Preethi Nair” appeared in the the Express Newspaper!

Now, by attending North Wales Women’s Network Late Summer dinner on 23rd September in Llandudno, you will have a unique opportunity to hear Preethi Nair talk about what it is that drives her to achieve success and find out how you can apply her ideas to your own situation.

Who should attend?

Women who are either employed, self employed or in voluntary work who wish to meet with other women and enjoy a professional evening who wish to be inspired by a well-respected and enthusiastic, author who’s passions and belief in herself has led to her success.

What else will I get from the evening?

By attending this event, you will be able to network with over 100 women from all kinds of businesses right accross North Wales, and also to take a light-hearted look at your own capacity for rule-breaking by taking part in our interactive quiz and round table games.
